How does everything work?
  • The program is free and open to the public, with or without a Jacksonville Public Library card. While a library card is needed to check items out, anyone can attend events and fill out a reading log.

  • You can read any book you would like as long as it is at your reading level. Any format is acceptable:  audiobooks, e-books, print books.

  • The reading log is simple! Please write the title of the book read by or to the child. Then, write a short review of the book. It can be as simple as "loved it" or "hated it."

  • There are three sections to your reading log. Each section has space for seven book reviews. After you finish each separate section, you can come in to pick up a prize (three prizes in total). After all sections are completed, you are entered to win the Grand Prize!

  • The Pre-K reading log is slightly different. There are several activities for you and your child to do together. These activities are suggestions for fun and educational entertainment. You may substitute the suggested activities with your own or simply read more books.

  • Anyone who completes their reading log will be entered to win the Grand Prize. The prizes will be awarded at the Closing Party on Saturday, July 27th at 10 a.m. You must be present to win.
