|Title:||Child Abuse Awareness Month Program|
|Location:||Jacksonville Public Library Meeting Room|
|Description:||National Child Abuse Awareness Month recognizes the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect and promotes the social and emotional well-being of children and families. During the month of April and throughout the year, communities are encouraged to increase awareness and provide education and support to families through resources and strategies to prevent child abuse and neglect. Each year, the White House and many states issue proclamations to raise awareness and to encourage communities to take steps to improve the well-being of children.
Through a partnership between MacMurray College and the Jacksonville Public Library, this program series will serve to educate the community about child abuse prevention and other topics to help support families. All programs will take place at the Jacksonville Public Library.
Wednesday, April 3 at 2 p.m.: Kirstien is a child advocate and will be speaking about what abuse and neglect are, the background, and warning signs. She will also include stories.
